❌ Foul on Vini Jr, direct red: Real rival was sent off within 37 seconds
The working day of Getafe professional Allan Nyom had barely started on Sunday evening during the floodlit match in the suburbs of Madrid and it was already over.
Completely bewildered, the defender looked at referee José Luis Munuera Montero as he showed him the red card. Nyom was only on the field for 37 seconds before, far away from the ball (20 meters), he brought down Vinícius Júnior with a clothesline tackle.
What was probably intended as a tactical error turned out to be much more brutal in practice. The Brazilian also managed to make the most of this gift. The referee had no other choice. Nyom’s action against the Real star took place right in front of both benches and, importantly, in full view of the fourth official.
After receiving the red card, Nyom actually spent more time on the field than after coming on. That was also due to his disbelief. The 37-year-old was not aware of any crime. But after the first video replays of the incident, there was no longer any doubt.
Things happened just as quickly after the restart, as Kylian Mbappé immediately took advantage of the new numerical advantage and scored the winning goal for the Royals just 20 seconds after play resumed. And Getafe? Within one minute they destroyed everything they had worked so hard to build for over 76 minutes, namely to earn a point against the Spanish record champions.
